Sue Ablett

Festival Chair

A great reader and passionate supporter of Evesham. A few years ago Sue led the very successful Bell Tower Appeal. Has considerable experience of fundraising and event management, not to mention lots of ideas and a boundless amount of energy! Totally passionate about Evesham Festival of Words!

Galen Batrtholomew

Committee Member

Galen was brought up in Evesham and returned to Evesham in retirement after a career in contracting and education management. Galen is delighted to work for and serve organisations connected with the town and county of his birth. Galen is also a Governor of St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester and a school governor.

Noelle Chambers

Committee Member

After living in the north west, the east midlands and the south east of England, Noelle moved to Evesham in 1988 and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. She worked in county, school and college libraries as a Chartered Librarian and was delighted to join Evesham Festival of Words in 2018 after retiring from the day job.

Joyce Davey

Committee Member

A long-term resident of Evesham, Joyce is an active and dedicated member of several local organisations, including Evesham Rotary Club, the Women’s Institute, Evesham and District U3A, her local church and walking group.

I moved to Evesham 12 years ago from Staffordshire, my background is in the jewellery business as a gemmologist. I left the trade after having my son and now work at the Evesham Volunteer Centre, and volunteer with Evesham Vale Welcomes Refugees. I spend any spare time reading. My target is 50 books a year, currently on number 76.

Kitty Kovacevic

Graphic Designer

Graphic Designer and Artist, Kitty grew up in the local area and now resides in Evesham. A fan of travel books, cycling and drawing. Her artwork is inspired by local landmarks and she was Cotswold Life Magazine’s Artist in residence 2016.

Lynn Lucchese

Committee Member

Lynn and her family moved to a village near Evesham in 1993. She is a retired teacher and enjoys a wide range of activities to keep body and mind active and healthy. In addition to a love of reading, Lynn enjoys hiking in our beautiful countryside.

Diana Raphael

Committee Member

Better known as ‘Mrs Evesham’, very involved in many aspects of town life – Town Councillor for 30 plus years, Evesham and Schools in Bloom, President of Wychavon Festival of Brass, Town Guide, runs Angling Festival. Diana has kept a diary since the 1960s and always wanted to write a book. Her memoir, Living Next to Paradise’, was published in November 2024.

In addition to the above we have a great band of supporters who help in a wide variety of ways. This includes particularly helping at events, making cakes and brochure distribution. We are all volunteers.
