Who We Are

Celebrating words in all their forms – written, spoken and sung, and launched in 2016, Evesham Festival of Words is a year-long Festival with a main weekend at the end of June/early July.

With an established reputation as an exceptionally friendly and well-organised Festival and with a diverse and exciting programme, and a wide range of authors, other speakers and performers, we offer something for all literary tastes. We are keen, however, to encourage those who may not be aspiring writers or great readers to come along too.

Compared to some of the larger festivals, our events are relatively small so audiences have a unique opportunity to engage with our speakers, but also with other Festival-goers. There is nothing like chat over the home-made cake for which we are famous!

We pride ourselves on attracting established authors from near and far but over the years we have also highlighted emerging local talent. There is no doubt that the Festival has now become an important part of Evesham’s rich cultural scene.

We use a choice of venues in and around the town, specially chosen to fit with the type of event we’re putting on.  The picturesque backdrop of Evesham, with its historic buildings and scenic riverside, adds to the Festival’s character.

Whether you are a regular attender, or new to the Festival, you can be assured of a very warm welcome.
