'Gloucestershire's Chosen Trio' with Tony Conder

With time for a leisurely pre-lunch drink, followed by a delicious 2-course Holland House lunch, we were treated to a superb illustrated talk by Tony Conder on the friendship between Ivor Gurney, Herbert Howells and F.W. Harvey, and how their work was stimulated by Gloucestershire, the Severn and the Malvern Hills.  The talk covers their early lives and their years of close friendship before World War 1.  Each of the three would find an artistic outlet in music and poetry but their futures would be very different.

“A fabulous event.  Holland House is a great venue for this type of event – very friendly, delicious lunch, and a fantastic speaker and talk.” (Sue Ablett)
